Hope for the Child of War Art Exhibition opens Thursday 17 November to Saturday 3 December, Wellington Cathedral of St Paul. See art works from children in Burma, a nation torn by fierce civil war for the last 60 years. Drawn from a therapy workshop for 150 children at a peoples camp on the Thai-Burma border. IN CAMERA PROJECT SERIES Shadowgraphs: Photographic Portraits by Len Lye at the Adam Art Gallery, 19 November-18 December. This is the Gallery's biennial student-led project, which enables students to research, write about and present an exhibition on a unique body of work. Curated by Professor Geoffrey Batchen, this exhibition is drawn primarily from the Len Lye Collection at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery and presents almost all the photogram portraits made by Lye in 1947-a body of work that until recently was neither well known nor fully understood. MINA, the Mobile Innovation Network Aotearoa, is a project that explores the possibilities of interaction between people, content and the emerging mobile industry. The International Mobile Innovation Screening 2011, hosted at the New Zealand Film Archive in Wellington from Wednesday 23 - Saturday 26 November, will showcase more than 55 international short films and four feature films, all produced on mobile devices. The Conference of the New Zealand Musicological Society hosted by NZSM through the Music Studies Programme - Performance, Creativity, Collaboration takes place Saturday 26- Monday 28 November at the NZSM Kelburn Campus. The conference seeks to explore and foster the dialogues around performance, creativity, and/or collaboration that occur both within and between different musics (including jazz, indigenous music and dance, Western art music, popular music, and music of any global tradition) and between disciplinary frameworks. The Royal New Zealand Ballet have been shortlisted for a top international dance award! The Company is a finalist for Outstanding Company in the prestigious UK National Dance Awards 2011, alongside English National Ballet, Mariinsky Ballet and Richard Alston Dance Company. The awards will be held in London on 23 January, 2012. RNZB Managing Director, Amanda Skoog will be travelling to London for the Awards ceremony.

It is renowned for 'championing the work of then unknown visionaries like Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham and Jonathan Glazer!

Script to Screen is delighted to announce the 2012 US Screenwriting Internship Scholarship to Killer Films in New York. The Scholarship, sponsored by the Film Investment Corporation Foundation and the New Zealand Film Commission, will fly the winning applicant to New York and pay their living costs for three months while they work as an intern in Killer Films' busy script department.
